Donations

The easiest way to donate is via the Charity Giving web site, Click on the picture to the left to take you straight to their donations page.

Charity Giving is a charity donations web site that ensures any monies you donate all go to their respective recipients. Indeed, if you are a UK tax payer, make sure you check the Gift Aid box on donating and Charity Giving will add the tax relief to the donation, so a donation of just £10 is worth £12.42 to Keeping Abreast.

OK. Where and what now?

I completed everything I wanted to achieve with the fund raising for Keeping Abreast in 2011. My wife went on to become the local chair of the charity for the King's Lynn area until Covid made it impractical to meet and she stepped down in 2020.

But things move on...

On my last day of Project Britain, I was accompanied on that very rainy day by well wishing bikers and in particularly a guy from my village called Phil Beeton whom I knew from good times at the pub along with his partner Jane. Sadly in October 2015 on his way home from work, he was involved in a fatal RTC. The accident was attended by the East Anglian Air Ambulance and although they were unable to save Phil, his nephew Jack who was a passenger in the front seat of the van was given immediate attention which resulted in Jack making a miraculous recoverry. On that fateful day the pilot of the East Anglian Air Ambulance was Prince William and in his memoires remembers the incident vividly. You can see Prince William's thoughts on the incident in a video by clicking here.

Along with the immediate family of Phil, we decided to put our efforts into raising money for the EAAA and as Phil was such a keen biker, we organised the inaugural Phil's Ride event over the August Bank Holiday weekend of 2016. Little did we know at the time, the annual event would grow year on year and flourish into not only a village event but attract the attention of bikers all over East Anglia.

The spirit of the Fatblokeonamoped lives on in...
